Victoria International Airport Receives Global Airport Service Quality Award for Best Airport in North America Under Two Million Passengers

Victoria, BC (March 05, 2026) – Victoria International Airport (YYJ) has received the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Best Airport at Departures in North America serving under two million passengers, a global customer experience award presented by Airports Council International (ACI). This marks the fifth time YYJ has received the award, and the second time in two years.

The distinction is based on passenger surveys conducted worldwide and recognizes airports delivering the best overall customer service and passenger experience. In 2025, the award for airports serving under two million passengers was presented to just two airports: Victoria International Airport and St. John’s International Airport in Newfoundland and Labrador.

“For airports, there is no recognition more meaningful than one that comes directly from passengers,” said Elizabeth Brown, President and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority. “This award reflects the professionalism and dedication of the entire airport community that serves travellers at YYJ every day.”

The ASQ Awards are part of the aviation industry’s most comprehensive and trusted global measurement program for airport experience. Passengers complete surveys during their journey, rating more than 30 aspects of airport service including cleanliness, comfort, efficiency, wayfinding, and the courtesy of airport staff. More than 400 airports participate in the ASQ program globally, making the awards one of the most respected measures of passenger satisfaction in the aviation industry.
The award recognizes the work of the entire airport community, including airline partners, screening officers, security teams, retailers, food service providers, custodial teams, and volunteers who contribute to the passenger experience.

Victoria International Airport will be formally recognized at the ACI World Airport Experience Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye, later this year.
