⚠️ ADVISORY: WestJet Service Recovery MORE arrow-right
close-notice
UPDATE: Aug. 3, 6 a.m.

Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is aware that WestJet has reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing the airline’s cabin crew.

WestJet has advised that it will take time to restore its network, and flight disruptions and cancellations may continue as operations recover.

Passengers travelling with WestJet are encouraged to:

  • Check the status of their flight and entire itinerary through the WestJet app or at westjet.com before leaving for the airport.
  • Monitor their email and text messages for updates from WestJet.
  • Contact WestJet directly with questions about rebooking or travel options.

YYJ continues to monitor the situation closely and will share updates through yyj.ca and our social media channels as more information becomes available.

Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) is proud of the men and women who graciously volunteer their time to serve as Red Coat Airport Ambassadors.

The Red Coat program is a travellers and well-wishers focused initiative designed to mitigate the anxieties of air travel.  Community volunteers strive to create a safe, secure and friendly air terminal atmosphere while maintaining a professional image of the VAA and facilitating the movement of travellers through YYJ.

Named after their bright red blazers, the Red Coats provide invaluable assistance and hospitality to the travelling public and visitors by greeting travellers, assisting with directions and area information, ground transportation questions and basic flight information.

The Red Coat team includes about 25 volunteers.  If you are interested to learn more about the program, please contact us at [email protected]
