Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is the 11th busiest airport in Canada, welcoming nearly two million passengers each year. Recognized as one of the world’s top 10 most-loved airports by CNN Travel, YYJ has earned a reputation for delivering an exceptional passenger experience while serving as a vital transportation hub for Vancouver Island.

YYJ is a consistent recipient of industry and employer awards, including BC’s Top Employers, Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Best Airport in North America (under two million passengers), Best Hygiene Measures in North America, Excellence in Airport Concessions, and Most Efficient Airport in North America (under five million passengers).

More than an airport, YYJ is an economic catalyst for southern Vancouver Island, supporting tourism, trade, investment, and thousands of jobs throughout the region. It is also a source of community pride, connecting residents and businesses with destinations across Canada, the United States, and beyond.

Located approximately 25 kilometres north of British Columbia’s capital city of Victoria, YYJ offers travellers a convenient and welcoming gateway to the region. The drive to and from the airport takes visitors through the seaside community of Sidney, the rural landscapes of North Saanich, and the municipalities of Central Saanich and Saanich. The terminal combines the convenience of a boutique airport with modern amenities, following significant investments and improvements over the past decade.

The Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) is a not-for-profit organization responsible for managing, operating, and developing YYJ on behalf of the surrounding communities. VAA is committed to operating the airport safely, securely, efficiently, and in a financially responsible manner while supporting sustainable growth and regional prosperity.
