Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is advising passengers that WestJet has temporarily suspended its flight operations due to a labour disruption involving the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), which represents WestJet Cabin Crew across Canada.

The airline is issuing cancellations directly to passengers. If there are any changes to your itinerary, you will be notified via email or text message from WestJet.

All passengers travelling with WestJet should check the status of their flight and full travel itinerary at www.westjet.com or through the WestJet mobile app before leaving for the airport. If your flight has been cancelled, do not come to the airport. Please work directly with WestJet for rebooking and travel options.

WestJet Encore flights on Q400 aircraft, as well as codeshare flights by airline partners, continue to operate.

YYJ remains fully operational and is prepared to support passengers. Our priority is to provide a safe, secure and efficient airport experience while assisting travellers with wayfinding and access to information.
