Cougar in Area

The Victoria Airport Authority is advising the public to remain alert following reports of a cougar near ȾEṈTEN (TenTen Creek) along Willingdon Road. The BC Conservation Officer Service has been notified.

Those in the area, including users of the nearby walking path, are asked to stay vigilant and use caution when outdoors – particularly between dusk and dawn. Please keep dogs on a leash.

If you encounter a cougar, remain calm, make yourself appear larger, and back away slowly. In the event of an immediate threat to public safety, call 911 and report sightings to the BC Conservation Officer Service at 1-877-952-7277.
