Calgary Based Connectus Global Introduces Victoria International Airport (YYJ) PCR Testing Clinic

Calgary, Canada:   In an effort to keep travellers safe, control the spread of COVID-19, and inspire confidence for businesses and individuals in the workplace and in their daily lives, Connectus Global would like to announce the opening of its accredited YYJ PCR Testing Facility at the Victoria International Airport (YYJ).  The facility is scheduled to open August 30th.

Mike Anderson, Connectus CEO says, “Our goal with this initiative is to provide the public with a quick and convenient testing solution for both international and domestic travel while remaining compliant to the testing and quarantine guidelines that have been put in place by the municipality in that local area, our country and abroad.”

Over the last several months, Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) has been working with Connectus to establish the COVID-19 testing facility at the airport.  “At YYJ, the health and safety of our passengers, partners, visitors and employees has been our top priority since the start of the pandemic.  We think that testing will be here for the foreseeable future and the addition of asymptomatic COVID-19 testing at the airport is one additional measure to support safe air travel, our local community and our award-winning safety and hygiene measures,” said Geoff Dickson, VAA President and CEO.

Connectus Global provides Health Canada approved SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) PCR Testing for both national and international travel along with jobsite and event access.  The facilities are operated by qualified and professional staff with a mandate to provide the customer with same day, 24, or 48-hour results.

Individuals will receive a digital health passport via their handheld which can be displayed to border crossing officials offering confirmation of their test results allowing them to proceed to their next flight or to the next stage of the compliance process.

“We’re working quickly to have the location open for August 30, 2021” continues Mr. Anderson. “As we come together worldwide to provide solutions for travel and other entry processes, the main goal is to help keep people safe, healthy, and eventually, back to their normal daily lives.”

The process begins with either scheduling an appointment using the Connectus Global YYJ clinic booking tool at www.connectusglobal.com/victoria-airport-testing-facility or simply dropping into the airport testing clinic.   Information will be entered into the Connectus Global database and results will be sent by email based on the selected timeline.  The cost of testing is $375 for same day results, $250 for 24-hr results and $175 for 48-hr results, plus applicable taxes.

The testing facility is located within the Airport Services Centre just east of the Air Terminal Building.  Public parking is available in the airport’s short term parking lot.   Hours of operations are 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Dates and hours may change based on need.

Travellers are reminded that they will need to adhere to all existing travel measures prior to departure and are encouraged to be familiar with the travel and quarantine requirements that may be in effect depending on where their destination is. Travellers may be denied boarding if the proper proof negative a negative COVID-19 test is not available to present to the airline.
