{"id":14270,"date":"2026-10-26T12:01:27","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T19:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yyj.ca\/?p=14270"},"modified":"2026-10-26T12:02:31","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T19:02:31","slug":"community-notice-proposed-stirling-commons-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yyj.ca\/en\/community-notice-proposed-stirling-commons-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Notice: Proposed Stirling Commons Development\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) is currently evaluating a proposal from Sherringham Holdings Ltd. for a commercial development on airport lands at 9771 Stirling Way, near Beacon Avenue West in Sidney.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed development, known as Stirling Commons, includes approximately 42,000 square feet of commercial space across four buildings, with plans for a grocery store, restaurant, coffee shop and additional retail space. The development also includes parking, internal roadways, landscaping, bicycle parking and pedestrian connections to the surrounding trail network.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VAA is the authority with jurisdiction for development and building permits on airport lands and is currently evaluating the proposal. As part of VAA&#8217;s review process, the proposal has been referred to the Town of Sidney for review and comment. The proposal remains subject to further review before VAA makes a final decision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">VAA has reached out to the four W\u0331S\u00c1NE\u0106 Nations that are signatories to its Friendship Agreement to share information about the proposal as the review process continues.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Victoria Airport Authority welcomes questions and feedback on the proposed Stirling Commons development.
